Major (Dr) Guru Prakash K V is a distinguished Consultant Psychiatrist and ex-serviceman, recognized for his expertise in managing the full spectrum of psychiatric illnesses. He completed his MBBS from Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, where he was known early on for his clinical diligence, patient rapport, and deeprooted interest in Psychiatry.
 
He began his professional journey with reputed institutions such as Wockhardt Hospitals, Bangalore, before being commissioned into the Indian Army’s prestigious Army Medical Corps. During his tenure in the Armed Forces, he earned widespread appreciation for his outstanding service in both clinical and leadership roles. His impactful work in counterinsurgency areas offering psychiatric aid and fostering community harmony earned him accolades from state ministers and local leaders, along with the esteemed “Chief of Army Staff – Commendation”.
 
Driven by a passion for mental health, he pursued his MD in Psychiatry from the Command Hospital – Eastern Command, Kolkata, where he topped the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. Under the mentorship of leading psychiatrists of the Indian Army, he developed proficiency across all subspecialties of Psychiatry.
 
Currently, Major Dr. Guru Prakash practices across multiple hospitals in Bangalore and is highly regarded for his empathetic approach, active listening, and patient-centric care.
